My Perfume Ad

Here is my original photo. I took the photo with a black curtain in the background to make the picture darker so the girl stands out more. Also, I put her on a piano as it could be perceived as seductive or even musical to some people. Also, as she is smiling it makes her look happy and pleased (with the perfume).

I then started to black out the blue under the piano on photoshop with the magic wand tool, but some of the blue remained so I had to use the paint tool and do the rest manually.

For the title I used the line drawing tool and aimed to make a gothic-styled name for the perfume. To make the shadow behind the name I copied and pasted the name then changed the colour to grey, then moved it to behind the red version.

I found this perfume bottle on Google and decided the bottle would go well with the gothic theme. I then put the image into photoshop and cut the bottle down to what size and shape i wanted it.

Here is my final design. I put the perfume bottle next to the girl; this can look like its floating there, or even that it is actually sitting next to the girl on the piano. I used other gothic styled fonts for the other writing and put it all in red as it stands out in the black background. With the piano I erased the actual structure and used the line drawing tool to make my own piano structure in red; to get a monochromatic styled image, but with red and black. The girl is wearing a particular style of clothing which also helps to get the gothic style I aimed for.

There are many carefully considered elements to the advertisement and you have achieved a look that appeals to a particular target audience. The red cushion is very prominent and perhaps this needed to be balanced with some further experiements with the red text. 'Fallen Angel' still seems a little hesitant and needs further aligning.
